Do you take time to chill and listen to your body?

How much to you pay attention and actually listen to your body and it’s messages? Your body is a magnificent piece of art with all of its interconnected biological functions.

The body has divine intelligence and always wants to move toward a state of perfect health. It requires the proper environment to enable it to move towards its natural state of perfect health and balance.

If you want to love your body and feel empowered in it, commit to listening to your body and the messages it has for you. If you have any health challenges, ailments or pain in your body, then tune into them. Know that a belief or behavior probably caused it.

Uncover the source of the Dis Ease that’s causing your body to be out of balance. You may have to deal with the health issue, ailment or pain a bit longer than if you took pills from your medical doctor, but it’s well worth it. In looking deeper and seeing what’s behind the Dis Ease, you’ll develop a deeper relationship with yourself. Isn’t that part of getting to know ourselves better?

My Story and Forgiveness

Recently I discovered I’m challenged with high blood pressure. It has humbled me and is a hard thing to face. I eat a healthy diet, I am not overweight, I do yoga and meditate but still, my body is talking to me and telling me to let go of past hurts. It’s hard to tap into the emotional cause readily however with the support from a healing practitioner I clearly realized it’s all about forgiveness and letting go of the past.

High blood pressure or hypertension is related to a long-standing emotional situation that hasn’t been resolved. And I’m not alone. Nearly half of adults in the United States have high blood pressure according to the American Heart Association.

I need to let go of the past and forgive those who I feel have hurt me. But most of all I need to forgive myself. It’s really as easy as that. But the funny part. Or not so funny part. Is that I have no idea how to forgive. Especially myself. It’s easy to believe the other person has wronged me. But I let it happen.

When under the gun like this, with my health at stake it’s imperative that I let go and forgive. Sounds easy but it’s not. That’s my emotional work. And by doing so I have a good chance of really healing the source of my high blood pressure and not getting on medication for it. And ultimately opening more to love.

It’s been a humbling experience of truly listening to my body and honoring “her” needs. I have to accept that my emotions strongly affect my health. We are emotional beings and that’s why it’s important to process our emotions instead of letting them fester inside for years. The body is so wise and so spiritually powerful… I can’t get away with anything. My body tells me immediately. So listen to your body. It’s wiser than you can ever imagine.

The Little Blue Book to Help You Listen to Your Body

Louise Hay was a well known and much loved spiritual teacher, writer and speaker. She wrote many wonderful books. She wrote a book that I absolutely adore, called Heal Your Body. In this little book, you can look up various ailments. The book will give the probable thought pattern that created the ailment. Then it also gives affirmations to heal the negative thought pattern. This “little blue book” has been a great reference for me to help others and myself over the years.

Louse Hay’s book is fun to bring to an intimate social gathering. You can look up each other’s ailments and see what probably caused them. She also gives positive affirmations for each ailment.

Probable causes Louise Hay has listed in her book:

  • Cold sores — Festering angry words and fear of expressing them.
  • Hip problems — Fear of going forward, nothing to move forward to.
  • Stiff neck — Unbending bullheadedness.
  • Hypertension — Longstanding emotional problem not solved.
  • Constipation -Refusing to release old ideas, being stuck in the past, and sometimes, stinginess.
  • Menopause Problems — Fear of no longer being wanted. Fear of aging. Self-rejection
  • Menstrual Problems — Rejection of one’s femininity. Guilt, fear. Belief the genitals are sinful or dirty.
  • PMS — Allowing confusion to reign. Giving power to outside influences. Rejection of the feminine process.
  • Thyroid Issues — Humiliation. “I never get to do what I want to do. When will it be my turn?”
  • Depression — Anger you feel you do not have a right to have. Hopelessness.
  • Anorexia — Denying the self life. Extreme fear, self-hatred, and rejection.
  • Bulimia — Hopeless terror. A frantic stuffing and purging of self-hatred.
  • Cellulite — Stored anger and self-punishment.
  • Pimples — Small outbursts of anger.

This is only a sample. It’s a small book but there are many more. Plus the book (Heal Your Body by Louise Hay) includes a specific affirmation and new thought pattern for each of the conditions in the book.

Every Disorder has Meaning

The concept is that every disorder has meaning. Your body doesn’t just get out of balance. Your body is talking to you. You need to relax and listen to it. There is a reason why it’s out of balance, and it’s important for you to take time to figure it out. Healers, coaches, therapists and energy workers can guide you along the way. But the answer is inside you.

Ultimately, it is up to you to change thoughts, beliefs and behaviors that affect your health. If you listen to your body more and honor its messages, you’ll be healthier. You’ll deepen your relationship with your body. And, you’ll grow profoundly, both emotionally and spiritually.

If you immediately turn to pharmaceuticals and continue to live as if nothing is wrong, then you’ll miss the gift. And the gift is the opportunity to learn more about yourself. Take time to look at possible emotional, environmental or lifestyle sources of the imbalance, and learn more about your body. It’s a time to look at how well you have been taking care of yourself emotionally. Then with new awareness make lifestyle adjustments to create more balance and health.

Maybe you need to:

  • Drink less alcohol socially
  • Stop clocking so much time online
  • Avoid those fast food places
  • Get more sleep
  • Take more baths
  • Eat less sugary foods
  • Eat more vegetables
  • Stop driving yourself hard
  • Accept your limitations
  • What is it for you?

Then, if you still need to take a pill, go ahead. At least first give yourself a chance to self-evaluate. This will broaden and deepen the experience you’re having in your human body. It’s a vessel of the divine, a vessel for your soul. If you don’t listen to it, then your soul won’t want to be in it anymore. Your life will end. Listening to your body and its messages gives you an opportunity to live a more empowered life. This is truly the Divine Feminine way of living. Listening to your inner wisdom first and foremost.

Slow Down and Connect to Your Divine Feminine Essence

We live in such a masculine, fast-paced world there is no time for us to explore, expand and cultivate the positive and healing qualities of feminine energy. But now as our society has become so “overdone” is so many ways. Everyone is stressed out and in a hurry. We are we all going? It’s time for us to slow down and connect to the wisdom that comes when being present in the here and now. And the healing energy of the divine feminine essence.

Guided meditations are a great way to do that.

I’m not an expert on all the physical/emotional connections of the body, though I have a certain level of understanding, and I’m always learning more. There is much to learn in this regard, and I find it fascinating. I enjoy learning and understanding more about how the body is wired, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

The point I’m making is that your body is not separate from anything, especially your emotions. Everything in life, the body, and relationships are interwoven. Understanding this will help you deepen your relationship with yourself, especially any “blind spots” you may have. Your blind spots are your illnesses.

They are places where you have an opportunity to grow. And they are places inside you that need more love. Understanding the interconnectedness between you and everything around you will help you open deeper to love. Let your body be your roadmap for opening to love and greater awareness.
